Our District 7210 Foundation Grants Committee invites you to submit a Preliminary D7210 2020-21 Global Grant Proposal to potentially receive significant financial support from our District for a service project to help your Club Do GOOD in our world!

As you may know, there are two types of Rotary Foundation Grants awarded by our Grants Committee:

District Grants which fund small-scale, short-term projects that address local or international needs.  In June 2020 a record number of 60 District Grants were awarded to 38 of our Clubs for projects which could begin on or after July 1, 2020 and would be completed by June 30, 2021.  Your opportunity to apply for the 2021-22 District Grants will be announced in Spring 2021.

Global Grants support large projects which respond to needs in one or more of Rotary’s current six Areas of Focus and have measurable and sustainable outcomes.  Notable other features of Global Grant projects include a minimum project budget of $30,000 (and up to $800,000 or more), and a comparatively complex application process that often requires up to a year or more to achieve approval.  Note that while many Global Grant projects are located outside of the US in developing countries with significant needs, they can also be located here in the Hudson Valley, or elsewhere in the US, but if located within the US, they must include participation by a Rotary Club from outside the US (District 7210 can assist you with finding a Rotary Club partner from abroad for projects located within the US).

If you are interested in seeking a commitment from our District to provide a portion of our 2020-21 District Designated Funds (DDF) in support of your Project, please submit the fully completed Preliminary D7210 2020-21 Global Grant Proposal (copy enclosed and on the District website) in digital pdf format, not later than Friday, October 23, 2020, to our District Rotary Foundation Chair (DRFC) Louis Turpin at Rotary.Turpin@gmail.com .  Your proposal must be submitted and fully described on the attached form only, as proposals submitted in other formats or requiring significant attachments will not be considered.  Your Global Grant Proposal can/should assume a minimum of $5,000, but no more than a maximum of $15,000, available in 2020-21 District 7210 DDF for your Global Grant Project (but you are encouraged to seek funding from other Clubs and/or Districts if needed).  If your Project is approved by our District Grants Committee for this DDF commitment, you will then need to undertake the online Global Grant Application process directly with The Rotary Foundation (TRF) and note that your Project can not begin until that application and approval process is complete.  Also note that you may apply directly to TRF for a Global Grant at any time, but in order to include a commitment of District 7210 DDF, you must obtain District approval of a Preliminary Grant Proposal.  Questions and comments can be submitted via email to our DRFC Louis Turpin.

Our Foundation Grants Committee is here to help you achieve your goals and Do GOOD in our world!
Most sincerely,
Louis
