Here is your invitation to register for and participate in the Rotary District 7210 Storytelling Contest!  As announced earlier this month, this is planned as fun and fellowship for Rotarians and their friends.  Please consider sharing your funny, touching or embarrassing story that in some way touches on this year's theme about HOPE.  
 
Please follow the link below to register as a contestant or audience member, letting us know which dates you are planning to attend, including the Storyteller Tips zoom sessions on January 8 and 11.

Contest Dates, Locations, Rules and Prizes:
Contest Dates & Locations (All events scheduled for 7 PM start)
·       January 8 & 11 - Zoom Storytelling Tips with Storyteller Karen Pillsworth (repeats)
·       January 18 - Ulster, Greene and Columbia Co. clubs at Best Western Plus in Kingston
·       February 1 - Duchess and Putnam Co. clubs at Daddy - O's in Hopewell Junction
·       February 8 - Orange and Sullivan Co. clubs at Aspire Brewing in Middletown NY.
·       February 15 - Rockland Co. clubs at Location TBD
·       March 8 - District Finals at Location TBD
 
Contest Rules
·       Story length should not exceed 5 minutes
·       Stories should be spoken aloud, not read
·       About true or mostly true experiences
·       Story theme – Create Hope in the World, or just Hope
·       Audience will be judges using ten point scale accounting for:
o   Story content - was it a good, compelling story?
o   Storyteller’s demonstrated ability in telling it
·       Contestant order determined by drawing names from a hat, limit of 6 contestants per region qualifier round.
·       Contestants should bring clubmates with them to the qualifiers to cheer them on!
 
Prizes awarded March 8
·       First Place: 2 Nights stay at Resorts World Casino in Monticello
·       Second Place: $200
·       Third and Fourth Place: $50
