On Saturday, May 17, 2025, more than 800 Rotary clubs and 30,000 Rotarians across 10 states and 5 countries, from Connecticut, Colorado, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Wyoming, Brazil, Bermuda, Canada, and United Kingdom will volunteer in their communities for an unprecedented Epic Day of Service, collecting clothes for homeless, refurbishing parks, and, much, much more.
 

 

YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE IN ROTARY TO HELP!

If you’ve always wanted to find a way to give back to your community, this is your chance! You don’t have to be in Rotary to volunteer for the Day of Service. Click on the ‘Find Your Town’ tab above, or scroll down to find the project in your town and sign up. Once you do, your local club will be in touch.

Join Us for an Inspiring Day of Humanity!

Friday, January 31, 2025 is the first day for Rotary Clubs to enter their Day of Service project description into the new Epic Day of Service website. Is your club ready? Do you have a club champion (chair) to take the lead for your project? Has your club performed an assessment of a need in the community that your membership can develop into a project that creates lasting, positive change? 
 
The Epic Day of Service is set for Saturday, May 17, 2025. This is the date that press releases and public announcements will use to publicize the service day for the 3,000 Rotary Clubs in 10 states and 7 countries. However, if your club has another club activity on that date it is ok to perform your service project on another date in May. 
 
Here are the steps to develop an Epic Day of Service project.
  • Perform an assessment of a real need in your community. Actively involve local individuals and institutions in the process. Make sure your club has the resources to perform the project and that your members enthusiastically support the project. 
 
  • Choose a club champion or a chair to shepherd the project from start to completion.
JANUARY 31, 2025
  • Now you are ready to enter your project details into the Epic Day of Service website. The first day to enter your project information begins January 31, 2025. 
 
  • Determine if your club wishes to fundraise through the Epic Day of Service website for your project. Easy money! More on that below.
FEBRUARY 28, 2025
  • The Epic Day of Service website will be published and open to the public on February 28, 2025. It is important to have your project information on the website by this date so anyone in your community can locate your project and choose to participate in the project. A potential new club member! Your project champion will be notified of any individual that signs up to participate in your project.
  
  • Publicize your project in the community using your club website, Facebook and other mass media. Send out press releases to the local media. Need help with preparing mass media pieces? Reach out to our district Public Image team for suggestions.

Let's Be Epic
 
Ok, you want to know more about fundraising with your Epic Day of Service project, right?  The Epic Day of Service organization is a 501C3 organization. That means anyone that chooses to donate through the website for your project their contribution will be tax exempt. If your club chooses to fundraise your event you will receive two tools with the website. First, a fundraising page. This page will be automatically set up for you where members, family, friends, and anyone in the community can donate online. Sound familiar? Yes, it would be similar to donating for a Cancer or Alzheimer Walk. Second, your club will have an email already written for you and ready to go, including the link to your fundraising page. All you need to do is email it.
 
Your club will receive almost all the monies collected for project with a small administrative charge that includes the cost for processing credit cards. Now there is one caveat to fundraising off your project. Since the monies donated by individuals are made to a 501C3 organization the IRS stipulates that when the Epic Day of Service sends the dollars it needs to flow to another 501C3 organization. If your club is a 501C3 you are all set to go. If your club is not a 501C3 then you need to arrange for another charitable organization to receive the monies for your club.
