"We did a project with Open Arms (halfway house located in Rockland).  We got them exercise and softball equipment.  We also took them out to dinner at a local restaurant.  They all really loved and appreciated this.  I had a bunch on the members in my club come too.  We offered to be mentors to anyone who was interested. We are hoping to continue to work with them going forward.  We have offered them a table at our fall festival and have offered them volunteer opportunities."
Newburgh Rotary Club is working with Montefiore St Luke's Cornwall Hospital to distribute pamphlets printed with information on where/who to call for help with substance use disorder, alcohol, depression, suicide, eating disorders, etc.  The pamphlets will be given to club members for display in their place of business, doctors offices and other areas in the community. The pamphlets will also be shared via social media. The club purchased 10 Recovery Workbooks which will be donated to Independent Living, an organization that helps people transition back into a sober life and stay healthy.
